The Sutherland Distilling Company, located in the shadow of Mt. Diablo, one of the Bay Area’s most iconic peaks, creates spirits naturally influenced by the mountain’s myth and lore. For its packaging, vintage maps and prohibition-era bottles inspire the hand drawn brand mark full of playful gothic fonts with demonic serifs and ligatures. On the back, an illustrated map of the Bay Area is printed in reverse, yet, under the right light, is revealed from the front, creating an unexpected surprise. (Credits: Cult Partners)
